I should have reviewed this book before I donated it to Goodwill so that I could cite some specific examples. Alas, the book is gone and I can't be very specific. The short of it is that a lot of the focus is on a few specific models/years, while other cars of the same model and/or year are completely ignored and not covered. In short, if you're looking for a comprehensive book on Mopar muscle cars then this isn't it. You won't find a lot of tech specs. If you're looking for a casual coffee table book and your car happens to be one of the featured ones, then it will be a nice and impressive book. There are a lot of beautiful pictures but it just didn't have what I was looking for.

We ordered this book for my father for Father's Day who owns a 1970 Dodge Challenger. He is a huge gear-head and enjoys reading about classic cars was much as the next guy. Although more pricey than paperback options, the hard cover was worth the extra cost. This book has crisp full page photos with excellent information to accompany them. Plenty of attention is given to all the major vehicles and even to a few less common cars. The book is solid and heavy which lends it to be a coffee table type book and not one you will toss up on your bookshelf. If you are looking for a great gift for a car buff in your life I would highly recommend item. Oh, and remember...this is a Mopar book. If you are looking for a book on Mustangs, or Corvettes keep looking =)!

Bought this for my boyfriend for Christmas. He owns a 70 Challenger that is also plum crazy! He loved this gift! :)Very fast shipping and the quality was just as described.

I am very impressed with the historic presentation of the Mopar vehicles. It seems that in the early days of automobile construction ALL of the manufacturers were trying to improve improve performance and comfort in their vehicles. When did high horse power and high torque become bad words?

Great book

I'm really not much of a muscle car fan - or a Mopar fan specifically, and I really only bought this book because my Mopar knowledge was a little weak - but the book is fantastic, with engaging writing and beautifully photographed examples of some of the most sought after cars from this era. You will not be disappointed at all.

This book did an excellent job of detailing the history of Mopar. I loved that it started with the history of the engines (it's the parts that made Mopar famous), and it didn't leave out the pony cars. Well told, with tons of detail and great pics. Bravo...*golf clap*...Bravo.

Very well done pictures; many details about the car designs and how they arrived at the final look.Well gift this book on to others..

When I started this series, I found it fairly enjoyable, and I assumed that the storyline being set up in Book 1 was going to be the fairly predictable. But I must admit it’s been a very fun and unpredictable ride! There are several twists that go in directions that I didn’t see coming, which is part of what makes this series a fun read.As with any mulitbook series, I enjoy a few characters more than others.I am a bit over the whole “space marine” trope, so Major Thrace was not a character that I cared much for (almost too perfect, etc...) but I like how she’s developed and has definitely become more than just a stereotypical “space marine”.The captains growth has also been steady and enjoyable to watch.And probably my favorite character has become Styx (and the new hacksaw drones). Just like the characters, you don’t know if you can trust them (you can’t!) but at the same time, the Phoenix crew is dependent on Styx. The paradox/conflict feels very real and genuine.Lisbeth’s development into a meaningful character has also been nice to see, which is important as she felt like a filler character initially, while now actually has a key role in the storyline.And the author deserves a lot of credit for creating a very detailed and well-thought out universe for the alien raises. They have unique characteristics they go beyond the simple “this is an aggressive race” shallowness to comprehensively realistic cultures.There are a couple of reason this didn’t get 5 stars:Despite the fact that humanity was virtually wiped out and has been able to rebuild itself in the past thousand years, the culture, slang, society for humans seem almost identical to our culture.I found descriptions on Terran society, culture, etc... way too much like modern day western civilization. This really takes me out of the story. It’s a shame because the author creates amazingly rich alien cultures, but the human culture is mundanely similar to our own.One character (maybe two) is the “kid alien” that has been on board since the first book (I even forgot the characters name. Scaw? Or something?) While I appreciate an attempt to capture his attempts at speaking “English” it’s just hard to read. Whenever the story switches to Scaw, I quickly skip these chapters. Sadly, this detracts nothing from the overall plot line or story (at least so far).A good read with some interesting and imaginative world building. Like most military Sci-fi it’s not terribly deep or thought provoking, but instead is a fun space opera created with lots of care and smarts.

Hidden beneath the rich, science fiction trapping lies a deep political thriller, well-developed characters, exciting action, and a never-want-it-to-end pacing.This book is a deep political thriller with shifting perspectives coming from individual priorities among the principal and even secondary characters. The seamless transitions drive the plot relentlessly forward, weaving an intricate tale.The political themes cross multiple races—already spanning half dozen different civilizations—before adding a handful more in this new book. The background and machinations spring wholly created and researched, highlighting the loving attention taken to develop this universe.The author creates the time and space within the narrative to flesh out new concepts, settings, and peoples pivotal to the plot, along with those little nuances that immerse the reader in the universe.Really great to be back in the Spiral Wars saga. I will miss this universe for finishing this newest edition and longing for the next. Perhaps it is time to either restart it from the beginning, or delve back into the equally compelling Cassandra Kresnov series, having denied myself that treat for too long.

I'm always buying Joel's new releases as soon as they come out because I've got a sincere belief that I'm going to get a fantastic story, with dramatic tension, pulse quickening action, and an exploration of the human condition through compare and contrast with other cultures and beings.Like the previous books in this series, I continue to get everything I'm looking for and more. And I'm waiting for the next one.

This series just keeps on delivering. It has all the right checkboxes for me.Interesting charactersDead Alien civilizationsRampant AIsSpace OperaGlad there will be more stories to tell in this universe. I esp love the audible versions.

I started off this series not expecting much, just trying something new. Now I feel like I stumbled onto something special. The future world that Shepherd has created for humanity is as creative and fascinating as it is gritty and believable. The author's depiction of military life and culture rings true as well, adding to the immersiveness of this story. I've been recommending it to anyone that loves space sci-fi.

I love this series! Unlike most of the preceding volumes, Croma Venture goes along steadily until around the 85% mark. Mr . Shepherd make us wait for the fighting but fascinates us with interaction with the intriguing alien species of the Spiral. A bit of a cliffhanger this time, as one of the major players is separated from Phoenix near the end. Bummer! Hate having to wait another year for the next book, but what can one do? Great stuff!

4 1/2 stars. OK...a little addictive. A space opera series with meat. Highly thought out galactic societies politics and persuasions. A lone ship trying to do the right thing for the human race and paving the way for interacting with others. Space battles that keep you wondering about survival. AI assist that has her own priorities. And not done yet... Good stuff.

SciFi space and space station, and other world gigantic battles that even a gal can understand and not put down. That’s just the icing on the cake. The cake itself is the well drawn, three dimensional and genuinely likable characters. Think I’ll stay tuned for the next book if, fingers crossed, there will be a 6th.

This is a wonderful book by a real expert on everything you can make with soybeans, Andrea Nguyen! I loved her enhanced ebook on making soy milk and tofu at home, which got me started on my soy journey. It was a no-brainer that I had to have this book as well. I am now making soy milk, tofu, soy yogurt, and even okara (soy pulp) recipes. My family eats a plant-based diet, so being able to make my own tofu is a huge benefit! The taste and quality are unmatched by anything you can buy in the store. Andrea recommends having certain kitchen equipment items that make the process much easier and I have taken--and run with--each of them. The two most important were a nonstick stockpot (I bought the T-fal 12 quart stockpot) and unbleached 100% cotton muslin fabric, which I cut into 24" squares and use to strain the soy milk. With the right tools, making soy milk and tofu is really not hard at all and well worth the effort!

I was disappointed when my local health food store stopped carrying my favorite brand of tofu. My remaining choices were not that tasty to me, so I decided to learn how to make my own tofu. I love learning new things, and this sounded like a lot of fun. However, the idea still intimidated me.Fortunately, this cookbook took me through every stage of making tofu. The steps were very concise and eliminated the guesswork for me. I don't own a soy milk maker, so I followed her directions for making it from scratch. It really is a lot of work, but I found the process to be rewarding and calming. I would buy a soy milk maker if I made larger quantities of tofu, but I only have to feed myself.This cookbook truly taught me how to successfully make tofu. Not only that, it introduced me to many forms of tofu that I was unfamiliar with. I have enjoyed experimenting with techniques and flavors, and have greatly expanded my knowledge of tofu. The tea smoked pressed tofu was a nice surprise and I've made it several times. The tofu skin was also new to me, and I enjoyed making it along with the companion recipes in the book.I expected the book to offer detailed directions for making tofu, and it provided so much more than I anticipated. I was surprised by the number of recipes in this cookbook. The photos in the book are gorgeous and mouth-watering. The book even includes recipes for Asian sauces such as Thai chili sauce from scratch. There are a variety of seasoned soy sauces that are perfect for dressing simple tofu, but also work well integrated into more complex recipes.I've had this cookbook for almost a year and I've referred to it many times. It quickly became one of my favorite cookbooks and is one I doubt I'll ever part with.

After reading a lot of reviews on-line it seemed too much of a pain to try and make tofu at home. Then, however, I found this book on Amazon and figured I'd give it a try. This is a well written book with clear instructions. I read the basics when the book arrived and then ordered gypsum and a plastic press. In her book she states she doesn't much care to use a soy milk machine, as it cannot hold 8 cups of water. So... I simply did 2 batches, one right after the other, using 4 cups of water and 1/2 the amount of soybeans called for in each batch. As I strained the milk from the pulp for the first batch, my second batch of milk was being made in my soy milk machine. When my second batch was complete, I strained the milk from the pulp and proceeded to cook it the second time on the stove, adding the coagulant and so forth. Following her instructions was easy and I am happy to say - my very first batch of tofu turned out perfectly. It's a personal thing, but, I really like knowing what's going into my food and exactly under what conditions my food is being made.

I heard Andrea Nguyen interviewed on the radio last weekend and immediately afterward bought this book. Her recipe for tofu is straightforward, precise, and full of useful information to ensure that anyone can replicate her results. I had tried to make tofu before using recipes I had read in magazines, but none was successful, even after several tries. The recipe for firm tofu in this book (the first I tried) was a knock-out success on the first go, and so was the silken tofu. Living in a small town in New Zealand where fresh tofu is simply not available, this book has completely revolutionised our cooking, and I can see that I will now be adding a few batches of tofu to my weekly routine.

Narratives are easy to read and informative. Topics are well researched and the recipes are wide ranging and thorough. Each recipe is easy to follow and most are well within the reach of even casual home cooks. The tutorial on how to make your own tofu was appreciated because in my neck of the woods it requires a drive of at least 30 minutes to obtain even the most basic types of tofu.Photographs are excellent and show techniques where appropriate and finished dishes in a very appetizing light.Highly recommended.

Wonderful cookbook about everything tofu. Taught me a lot just skimming thru book, recipes, different sauces, how to make tofu, differences in tofu depending on country where it was made, etc. I am very happy with this cookbook opening my eyes to the possibilities that tofu can bring to the table.

I have been making tofu for a while now plus I used to make it many decades ago but this book was a very nice adjunct to what I already knew. So many ways to not only make tofu but interesting stories of Nguyen's family, friends and acquaintances who also came to this country and their journey to becoming American with tofu still being in their daily lives. Lots of information you probably are not going to find in other books about tofu making.Have enjoyed reading the stories, incorporating some of her tofu making techniques and will eventually try some of the more innovative dishes. Lovely and informative book on soy beans and tofu making with the added benefit of learning something about the author, her likes and the people she has known who also make tofu to sell.
