I LOVED this book! I've loved all of Emma's books so far, but I have to say this just might be the best one yet. I loved every detail. It has a good dash of humor in it. I also feel like there's a little more direct faith parts in this book than her first ones. I was nearly moved to tears in one part when two friends were discussing a decision one would be making about a relationship. The way that the one friend reminded her of God's plan for her life and even challenged her a bit. There was another intense scene that did have me in tears. I was simply drawn into this story. What a fun and uplifting read with some interesting twists and turns.
This is a great book. The story starts off with a comical situation and continues taking the reader on a rollercoaster ride. The book explores how family dynamics can cause emotional scars and insecurities. Emma St. Clair is one of my favorite Christian authors. All her books reflect her faith in a way that is not “preachy†or “judgmentalâ€. I read the beta and couldn’t wait for the book to be published because Ms. St. Clair left the Epilogue off the beta. I needed to find out how the book ended so I purchased the book. The ending was perfect.
I enjoyed this book by Emma St. Clair. I wasn't sure what to expect since "scheming" has always had negative connotations to me. But I've always enjoyed her books so I gave it a read. I'm glad I did! "Scheming" here means "planning, strategizing, organizing" and isn't negative at all! In fact, Reese is savvy and smart and kind. She's a character I enjoyed reading about. The entire cast of characters are fun. I loved Reese's best friend, Staci and Sterling's manager, Morgan. They are the kind of gals I'd love to hang out with in real life. Then there's Moby, an insufferable flirt until he meets the right girl. I enjoyed watching all the characters develop over the course of the book. I enjoyed the extra emphasis on Reese's relationship with God, too.
First of all, I will admit, this is not my usual genre. I generally stay away from contemporary Christian romance because I usually find them incredibly cheesy, overtly preachy, or weirdly awkward in how they portray faith. This book was none of those things. Both the main characters were well-drawn and authentic. Their relationship seemed very possible and plausible. Reese was very likable, and I found myself empathizing with Sterling, too. The faith story that is interwoven in the book feels authentic and natural - not like it is shoe-horned in or unrealistic. Overall, I really enjoyed the story, and it was a fun departure from my normal reading pile.
I read reviews before buying and I'm extremely leery of any or all high ratings. I only review books I rate 4 stars or above. I don't denigrate an authors work if I don't rate it high enough to write a review. I don't know any Authors and haven't been offered anything for this review. And wouldn't accept anything to do so.Managing The Rock Star is the latest from Emma St Clair who has come to be one of my: Buy when the book comes out authors. This is a clean romance with compelling characters that you come to like. Neither of the main characters is perfect and the book tells the current condition of music and the impact of social media. The build-up of the relationship was done well without the tired machinations of the world trying to keep them apart. I dislike reviews with retreads of the storyline and hate spoilers. I will not add either to this review.I highly recommend this book and believe you'll find it's charm clear as well. And you may find, like me, you'll want to read the rest of the books written by this Author.
I thoroughly enjoyed The Rock Star's Scheming Bride. The characters are well developed and personable. Reese is really outstanding at social media. Sterling is not your typical rock star; he is an introvert. Sterling has more than just image problems. His younger sister is an addict. He wants to help but his mother says stay away. There is a lot going on; I could not put the book down. If you are looking for an really well written, sweet, clean romance, do not miss The Rock Star's Scheming Bride. I highly recommend it.
She is a PR guru. He is a singer in a band. She has been hired to revamp his image. He was her teenage crush. Now she has to ride on his tour bus and help clean up his image. What happens when news comes out that out there is a baby that might be his? PR nightmare. And what about her feelings? His past is another story. This is an angsty book.
I watched it load into my kindle at midnight and started reading. This book had it all. Relatable characters, the feels, conflict, everything you need in a great read.
