A fast paced, exciting story. I love to read my Kindle before going to sleep. But, this book was too action packed to be relaxing. So, I read it in small sections even when I didn't want to put it down. Spoiler alert coming up: A key premise of the book, which I question, is that anyone who controls the papacy can determine who is elected President of the USA. The last time I looked, the only President who was a Catholic served over half a century ago. But, ignoring the questionable validity of the premise, the book was an exciting read, with admirable heroes and evil villains. Oh, there were several instances where it appeared that an editor had never read the book before it was published. But, a friend of mine has pointed out that that is the norm nowadays, and it really did not interfere with my enjoyment of the book.
That's a silly headline for a silly story. The pope is old and frail, and certain people want the church to return to its more conservative days, including the Latin mass.Think antiquities, Swiss guards, CIA qpresent and former, fast cars, cardinals, murder and mayhem. Read it to get all of the details.

Read it twice An excellent easy read! Keeps your interest. Highly recommended!A 5 star book. Limited violence. A must read for anyone who loves to read.
This was a good tale of espionage. Some of the characters' abilities were a bit far-fetched, but, hey, it's a novel. Except for some real activities of the far right in current politics, the espionage might not have been believable, either. Would've given it more stars if the ending had been a bit better.
WOW ! One full day of reading, Loved it. Lots of action, great storyline, love the pope, best international spy, intrigue, religion, action, love all twisted together. Somehow it all works. Will read more of this author
Very unique (to me) background for a mystery thriller to take place. Interesting take using the Vatican, but in the end, this was just another mystery thriller. Well written, but a little formulaic. Decent characters. Worth a read.
I thought Champorcher's prior books were good, but this one beats them all. The characters leap from the page, the plot twists keep you intrigued and the story is just plain good. Add to that the wonderful descriptions of the Italian countryside and the obviously well researched background of ancient art and the Vatican and it is simply... a great read.
