OK, so here's the thing. Some people were apparently upset because I noted that this supposedly "new" product arrived to me looking used.The presentation of a product is part of the experience of that product. If a product is manufactured, stored, handled, or shipped in such a way as to compromise the integrity of that item, that is 100% valid and on-topic information for a potential customer to have. This is especially true with a company such as Amazon, which is seeking to be *THE* source for online book sales.Since their packaging was solid, one can only assume that the handling of the item, either at the publisher's warehouse or Amazon's is sub-par (I assume the latter). Again, a customer should be aware of this fact on THIS site so they can determine if they want to proceed with an order from THIS site, or try to obtain the item elsewhere. Somewhere along the line, this product is handled in such a way as to be compromised and Amazon still chooses to send it out. As someone who does not have money falling out of trees in my backyard, I find this to be valuable information.Now, as to the content of the book, itself. I find it to be adequate. As with most resources of this type, I find some tips to be very useful, some that won't apply much to what I do, and a few that, to me, I just don't care for (posing that creates too stiff of a look). Thankfully and surprisingly, there are fewer instances of the latter than some of these types of books seem to be filled with.The book, I rate as 4 stars. Good, but not perfect.However, had I the purchase to do over, I would have ordered elsewhere with the hope that the product would have been handled with more care, instead of looking like some Amazon warehouse employee played frisbee with it prior to loading it up and shipping it to me in a pristine package. Is it damaged enough to warrant a return? No. But it is not worth the "new" price I was charged.If you're a portrait photographer, buy this book. But beware of from where.

"Picture Perfect Posing" is the most practically useful photography book I have ever read. So many books of this type are so non-specific, speaking in generalities so that very little actionable information is given to the reader. This book is very, very specific, pointing out posing problems and presenting the reader with a defined system for fixing them.The author uses his own photos as both good and bad examples of posing, which is very encouraging since it shows the reader that it is possible to get significantly better at posing subjects through practice. While reading about the bad examples, I could directly relate to the author and how he dealt with posing when he started out, which was trying to memorize thousands of poses, then forgetting all of them during a shoot and just shouting out random posing commands, hoping for something that works. I have been there.If you come to photography from an engineering background or you just have a logical mind, Picture Perfect Posing will be a very helpful tool because it is a specific system that addresses common posing problems you will likely encounter, with specific solutions for fixing them. This is so helpful because it can be very difficult to look at a pose and figure out exactly why it doesn't work without this sort of information. For example, the author covers finger positioning, where and how hands should be placed, how noses should be pointed... all very helpful to give photographers a base to work from instead of just trying to create awesomeness from nothing.The author even touches on facial expression, although that isn't the primary focus of the book. I found this interesting because the method suggested to get good performances is similar to a famous actor direction technique: Give the person a task to concentrate on, like counting fenceposts or trying to spot exactly when the camera's shutter closes behind the lens, etc. This can make it easier for the subject to produce an engaged expression that takes the photo to the next level of professionalism, I would love to see a whole book about direction for still photography.One nitpick for future editions: On page 168 the text refers to a blue line indicating the "overlap point" of two bodies in a couple's pose. It looks like the publisher changed the blue line to a red circle without updating the text, since I do not see a blue line in the example photos.I highly recommend "Picture Perfect Posing" to photographers who need a strong base to build poses from, especially for wedding and engagement photography.

Basic SummaryIs Nothing Something? is a book filled with kids' questions and the sage answers from Thich Nhat Hanh about life, death, family, friendship, and so many other topics. Each page has a simple question, many of which my daughter asks on a regular basis, and a short answer. The answers are based on Buddhist principles and beliefs; however they are spoken without judgement and from a place of love. While the answers are geared towards a child, they are presented in a way that neither talks down to the child or makes light of their concerns. Some of the answers are very deep and philosophical; however most answers are simple principles of how to be kind, loving, and full of compassion. There are simple illustrations on each page containing animals, many of which are in yoga poses.Our take on the bookWhen my daughter and I read the book for the first time, we took time to read each question and discuss what we thought the answer should be prior to reading the answer presented by Thich Nhat Hanh. It was serene to have a thoughtful conversation with my seven year old daughter about topics we rarely broach. I was impressed by her answers, and she reflected and responded to each of the answers presented in the book.My daughter's favorite page had to do with a question regarding the death of a grandfather. The answer is amazingly peaceful, and I was touched when she made a connection to the death of my own grandfather because this relationship in particular is connected to the plants the we grow as a continuation of the things he taught me.My favorite question and answer was centered on what to do when you feel sad. The answer recommended to smile even though your are crying because the sunshine through the rain can make a rainbow. How beautiful is that sentiment?Overall, this book is simple, peaceful, and contemplative. It is the perfect addition to any collection of books that discuss religion or principles on being a good human.

I cried skimming through this book. It's a christmas presents for my daughters and imagining them thinking over how with death, our shape may change but we will never disappear, brought tears and a certain sense of comfort to my heart. Many poetic, simply put, pearls of wisdom. Not only for young children but anyone who could use a little spiritual reminding.

Great book for kids. my son read some of it to the whole family as he thought it teaches how to be positive. really an awesome job by the author.my son came to a conclusion that the author is a believer of Buddhism!

If every child grew up with this book... A beautiful, simple, easy to understand collection of relevant questions and answers filled with wisdom and distilled into clarity that even the youngest of kids can understand. Wonderful, insightful, and helpful - especially for the tough to answer inquiries our kids have. Thank you Thich Nhat Hanh.. I only wish I had this as a child growing up!

A way to help a child question and wonder. A way to have conversations. Suggest not doing very many at a time, and trying to return to the question when not reading the book, when those "teachable moments" arise.

This book is good for kids with lots of questions (so... all of them, lol). Its a bit shorter than I expected - my daughter finished it in about 10 minutes, but I keep it in the magazine rack in the guest bathroom and have nothing bad to say about it! Good book!

Good bedtime book for kids. Thoughtful. I may not agree with everything but it promotes interesting discussion.

Wish I'd had this book a year ago when I retired and had to set up Medicare. I did a lot of researching that Michael has pulled together in a Quick concise reference book. Recommend to all that are approaching or have friends and relatives approaching the age when they need to set up Medicare. I learned a couple of things I should have done differently.

This book is super helpful and very concise. My husband and I are in our 60s and we like to plan early for things. We found the step by step approach refreshing. It is the best ok out there. Most of the others add a lot of fluff that the reader has to filter through...This book did it for us.

This book has quite a few typos – wrong words; wrong forms of words; punctuation errors – even the word Medicare is misspelled! (page 22 at the bottom) With this degree of sloppiness with the language, how can the information be trusted? Can I get my money back?

This book is a maze. I found it very confusing and not very helpful. It mostly directs you to the Medicare website.

Was very disappointed when the first book started with two star crossed characters and they abruptly ended and started over with siblings whose journey also abruptly ended in the book. After that, I was not interested in more short lived tales. However, the book did refer you to your local book store to get more information on the characters started in this book. Do not recommend at all.

While each of these stories are definitely good beginnings, it was extremely disappointing to find out that they are not stand alone stories. The reader is left hanging unless he/she buys the next book and then the next.......... So, while Ms Woodbury is a compelling storyteller, I will try a different author and get the whole story.

I had read daughter of time before. It is an excellent book. Actually it is an excellent series. The other 3 stories are good but I dislike 4 cliffhangers.

History fascinates me, and when you add personal journeys I'm hooked. Even if you don't know anything about Wales, you will still be drawn into the its ancient history. You'll fall in love with the characters, and hate to leave them behind in the pages of the book.

I want to know where the help the vehicles disappeared to in both time travel plots that never were explained, nor the story line expressed or expounded upon. Time I will Never Get Back. Thought of looking at more books, read reviews and realized, but my losses now! There's only so much readers pissed off I can get before it becomes self abuse.✌💋

I am not a history person, but I do love the way it is presented in these books. I thought that Sarah Woodbury did not have much passion or love in Daughter of Time, but I had to continue the series to see what happened. The other books, as this Prequel, did not have the display of passion between the couples, but there was enough passion for Wales that made up for this.As an alternate history, she wove quite a tale!

Romance is the name of the game in this book. This book delivers what we all want more romance and excitement in our life. Overall I am very well pleased with this book and the excitement it has brought me. This book had me unwilling to put it down until I turned the last page as I was so enthralled with the plot.The author of this book knows how to deliver the good in this romance novel.
