Couple friends found this book excellent and recommended it. It's a quick read, filled with good humor, anecdote and extensive direct experience.I particularly appreciated the candid treatment of the entire topic of networking, dispelling my view of it being a "schmoozy" practice that often felt like it was a waste of time when people asked to network with me. I now see how those notable exceptions that I truly enjoyed had leveraged the concepts in this book.I was asked to speak earlier this week at an upper level college class for Finance students and recommended this book to them. The professor is planning to acquire it and provide for each of his students.

While it doesn't account for many different scenarios like asking contacts to let you know if they see or hear of any opportunities, this concise guide helps you gain evangelists which would be willing to do more than be your eyes and ears by demonstrating respect, gratitude and preparedness.

Perez and Ballinger do make the valid point that it's who you know, and lay out a solid roadmap for good conversations and follow-up that build friendly business relationships.The reason for my low rating? The book does not outline the entire process.There is no discussion of HOW to make the first contact/secure a meeting with these new networking contacts. For all the anecdotes, the job seeker conveniently has friends-of-friends in high places. In other words, this book is for the person who already is well-connected but simply needs to build and strengthen those relationships.But look elsewhere for discussion on effective ways to break the ice and request a meeting.

I'm often asked for networking advice as the founder of an internship program. These requests come from all levels - interns to professionals returning to the workforce. My first recommendation is read "The 20 Minute Networking Meeting". I've handed out nearly 100 copies. This is the right way to handle networking…with focus, intention, gratitude and giving back. My hats off to Nathan Perez and Marcia Ballinger for bringing this resource forward to all levels of job-seekers. Thank you.

Since I am a Career Management Consultant, having any great advice to pass on is welcomed. This book provides practical advice and I love showing an ineffective networking meeting to an effective one. I have already recommended this to others.

This is a great little guide for people embarking on the art of informational interviewing and networking. I do think that the time allocated to build a real relationship is a bit short but it is a good lesson on being well prepared and how to manage the meeting

As a job search coach I recommend this book to my clients. It's hard to imagine a better how-to guide on the subject. Reading this book and using its suggestions can greatly improve the results of your networking meetings.

It gives a great introduction to networking and provides checklists and examples.

Was hoping it would show pictures of what to look for, but because it only lists the words of what to find, my daughter doesn't find it very easy and struggles to find items.I like it though lol but some of those pics are so obscure that without knowing what it looks like that you're trying to find, its a struggle.

After spending $35 for an annual subscription to the Highlights magazine, I discovered that the only thing my daughter liked about it was the Hidden Pictures. So for 1/4 the price, she can have tons of hidden pictures in this one book. Genius! Such a fun time filler for car rides, and quiet time, or something we can work on together.

We got this book for our 9 year old daughter and she loves it! We often work on the pictures as a family. We take the book with us when we eat out at times, and it helps pass the time while waiting on our meal. We are able to find all the hidden pictures though some have taking longer than others. They are very clever drawn into facets of the larger picture. I am amazed at how clever many of the different items have been drawn into parts of other things. She brought the book with her to a dinner out when a friend brought their daughter, and they had a great time in the book wile the adults chatted. Just finishing this one and will order another.

My wife absolutely LOVED getting this in her stocking.We had been talking several times recently about having subs to Highlights when we were young and that the Hidden Pictures were always the first page we'd turn to (next was The Timbertoes lol).This definitely hit the nostalgia in the nose and we're both having a blast going through it!

My husband is pretty much bedridden. These keep his mind active. They're great to take into the office, too. Everyone seems to take a moment to find something; it shifts your thinking a bit. Not a bad idea when the brain needs a break.

The little I nanny for are OBSESSED with these Highlights Hidden Pictures. So much so that 3 days after I gave them this, it was finished. It was challenging, but they had a little help from me and their parents. The boys are ages 6 and 8 so I would suggest it'd be too hard for kids under 5.

My six year old daughter and I usually love doing hidden pictures but this book wasn't very satisfying. The drawings were more like suggestions of an object.

Great book for all ages and is not too difficult so it's great for my mother who has dementia. Keeps her mind active.

Eric Bauer- I love your podcasts. This book has great content, but I'd rather have a book I can pick up and read, rather than feel like I am looking at someone's notes from a lecture. If the book came with a matched podcast, that would have been fantastic. There are just too many podcasts to dig through to find the one that matches the chapter.

Thanks to Eric's podcast's and book I passed my FP-C with room to spare!Sign up for the podcasts, they provide a great review of clinically important concepts and are an awesome learning tool for both new and experienced critical care and prehospital providers.

This is not for the first time FP-C / CFRN. This is a book in an outline format with very little explanations. This appears to be a quick review for someone that already has a grasp of the material and theories. Im into my second chapter and I have already found some confusing contradictions and wrong answers in the key. Positively it seems to mirror (mostly) my other sources. The information appears to be up to date. Some of the test "tips" also seem to be the same as other sources. I was looking for a more in-depth source to explain the topics to me as I am a "newbie" The cover does say its a exam review and advanced practice update.

This is a nearly useless resource for FP-C, CCP-C preparation. Extremely amateur in its presentation. Imagine someone who completed the FP-C prep course decided to publish his/her class notes--that's exactly what this book looks like. In places, the notes are useful, in others, so abbreviated only the author knows what they were supposed to mean. So it is filled with abbreviations that are unexplained, notes that list a concept without any explanation, and words or phrases out of context. Some areas are detailed and fully explained, others are nothing more than a list with no context or explanation whatsoever.You'll spend more time googling terms and concepts to find out what the heck the author meant than using this book to study. It's infuriating that anyone thought this would be useful. I am an experienced full time CCEMTP provider looking for board certification to move to another state, and this book would go straight in the trash if it didn't hurt so much to throw away perfectly good money. So it will sit on a shelf, unused, and worthless. What a shame. Don't make the mistake I made of buying this book because it's a little cheaper. Spend a little more and get something that will actually help you.

Way too overpriced, good for group study which is how FP-C should be tackled at any rate, pictures are somewhat ambiguous and poor done. I rated 5 stars because someone obviously put alot of work into this and there are not many simplified, guideline style options out there for FP-C.

I've had this book for several months. I purchased it on my own first.. and attempted to review. It was absolutely useless. I had no guidance, and it is written in outline format, which I found highly annoying. In addition... several photos are blurry, hard to read and really have no explanation with them. It ended up sitting in a drawer for a long time.I took the class recently with Flightbridge and I found that a little more helpful. Having someone speak along with the outline and explain things along the way was good. Though this does not start at the basics and I felt like they glossed over a lot of foundation type things. If you are doing self review, this is not a good book.

Great book for direct information without all the grey. Definitely like the format.

This appears to just be a collection of the authors notes, there is no actual content to the topics.

I got this book at a rebate in return for giving impartial criticism. I purchased the 2016 variant of this exercise manual towards the finish of 2016, and never truly got around to doing much with it. Convinced this is not a random act but deliberately targets Tara, can they find the culprit as the case draws them out of the friend zone? I love this book. It had enough suspense and romance to pull you in and keep you there. The characters were well developed and I enjoyed the story. I’m looking forward to other books by this author.

A well told story. The characters were believable, and the mystery well developed.Learning to trust and believe in lasting love is hard to do when you have been abandoned by a parent when you are young , but some people price worth the leap.

This book was so good—I couldn’t put it down! The hero was a man of principles with an all-in attitude. I loved how Tara worked through her fears realistically and how she sacrificed for her family. I will definitely read the next book in this series.

This book had several good things going on but it just wasn't realistic. I don't know of any law agency or officer that would repeatedly let the victim go to or be involved in the interrogations/interviews of potential suspects . Sorry I really wanted to love it based on the other reviews but couldn't

What a terrific book! I have been stalling on trying machine, free motion quilting knowing for sure that it takes a lot of practice to become decent at it. I didn't want to ruin something I had made. But now, I am ready to GO! The book has multiple projects where "mistakes" made while practicing are just fine, they actually add to the beauty of the finished projects! What a great approach. I can practice and still turn out wonderful items. Thanks to the author for this approach. Usually I am not a fan of so many of the projects in quilting books, but this one had several that appealed to me. The little baskets and various bags that can be used for utility purposes are terrific. I see shopping and utility bags and little shallow baskets by my sewing machine holding notions in my very near future. The directions and encouragement are great, neither too much nor too little. Nice troubleshooting section too.

This book is just what the title says: a beginning free motion instruction book. As a bonus, it includes 24 simple projects that are designed to be quick to make so that you can spend a minimum of time making the project and most of your time practicing your free motion quilting.The instruction section is short but complete. The photos are good and the writing clear. Extensive use is made of bulletized lists so that you can quickly see the important ideas without wading through lots of text. In fact, as I read the instructions I found the author making all the same points I tell my students in my free motion classes.Following the instructions, a thoughtfully organized section shows about 65 different free motion designs, all very suitable for beginners. This section is a wonderful resource for quilting ideas.The remainder of the book – in fact more than half of it – is devoted to the 24 projects. There is a wide variety – bags, bowls, placemats, tablerunners, clothing, and quilts. The last part of the section discusses embroidery – or using the free motion designs on plain cloth or readymade clothing. Many of the projects have a “modern quilt” feel. They are young and fresh and are likely to appeal to younger quilters (Judging by her photo, the author fits in this category!)In short, I heartily recommend this book. The only reason I don't give it five stars is because I haven't worked through the projects and so can't evaluate them at this time.

I am a beginner to FMQ (free motion quilting). I have never done it before, but have a great amount of knowledge from reading about it. This book has connected the dots for me! I understand how you are supposed to start and end your thread. Quilting is awesome, because it has so many different art forms within one quilt! You are creating, putting together, and when you are done with a quilt sandwich, you have an entire canvas to "draw" on! It's the best because you get to shop, put together like a puzzle, then "draw" over your quilt! Christina is such a nice person, and was available to answer any question I had. She explains about tension, and what to do if your thread is laying on the bottom or top. She shows a lot of pics and diagrams on how to make different patterns on your quilt. She explains how to hold the quilt while you are quilting. She goes over what equipment you need, how to start and finish the actual quilting (which was always a mystery to me!), and the techniques that she uses to make amazing quilts. She uses a lot of different shapes: circles, triangles, squares, rectangles, and then goes on to show you how to do feathers that looks so amazing on negative space on quilts. Christina stresses that quilting is supposed to be fun, and the only rule is that there are no rules. She gives tips on everything that has to do with FMQ, and I learned SO much in this book. It's definitely a good book to pick up as a beginner. It's a great book to pick up if you have been doing FMQ, and want to learn more. It's a great book to have, so you can have it as a reference anything you have a problem with FMQ, or just don't know how you should quilt your quilt! She gives a lot great tips on what looks good on different parts of your quilt. I know I will be using this a lot in the near future, and grateful that I have it when I need to look up something quickly. oh! She goes over 24 projects you can FMQ on!!! The projects she has range from place mats, pillows, purses, and a lot of quilts. I'm grateful that I have an awesome book I can refer to whenever I need inspiration or a problem with my FMQ. If you are new to quilting as I am it's just hard to find the right information. These quilters guard their secrets like the US does on Area 51. Not even sharing with their fellow quilters at the local bee. And if they do share they don't share the proven shortcuts. But this book is packed with super easy instructions on setting up your machine, best supplies to buy, and is full of courage inspiring quips to make you say " Let's get on with it already". You will wonder what the heck you were afraid of in the first place. Don't wait another second searching for videos or techniques online. This is the best and only book to get you free motion quilting with confidence. I just finished my second quilt and the stippling is perfect all because of this book. Thank you Christina for making my Dad proud of me.

This is my "go to" book on free motion quilting! Christina's inviting and friendly approach helps one with beginner's fear. Her projects are varied in difficulty and fun, unique, and exciting, and they build confidence as you go. Most of the projects are small, which means even someone with an old home machine can do them. Her quilt designs are contemporary and fun, and her own projects shown in the book inspire me; they are clean and artistic at the same time, and her color choices are always lively, fun, and aesthetic. I think Christina is one of my favorite modern quilters, and her free motion quilting work is impeccable and highly skilled. She generously shares all of her FMQ tips to help make you successful. If you only could afford one book on FMQ, I would recommend this one.
