When Truth worked for me, it really worked. In the moments it didn’t, I was still invested enough in the story to keep pushing through. The plotting was good; it was some of the characterizations and editing that left something on the table, for me.My very favorite part of Truth was the juxtaposition of the two relationships Drew experiences. They served to show the difference in someone exerting control over a person for their own satisfaction and giving up power to someone because you trust them and they will only use that control to empower you. So often control-exchange novels don’t have the first example to highlight the differences and can come across differently than intended. I felt like having the emotionally abusive relationship with Nick touched on at the beginning of the book really helped to enhance how supportive and mutually satisfying the relationship with Dominic was.For all the things that didn’t quite work for me in Truth, I still found the premise and plot fascinating and was invested in making sure Drew and Dominic found their happily ever after. Ms. Pucci also made the supporting characters and the world she’s begun building in this series compelling enough I am eagerly anticipating the next book in the series.My first wish for Truth would be another editing pass. There weren’t a ton of issues, but there were some minor grammatical issues and several instances of stilted dialogue and descriptions. I also felt the characters had some serious problems with consistency. Their personalities and voices seemed all over the place, and it made it hard for me to fully connect with them since I had no idea who they were going to be in the next scene.Truth is the first book in Trilina Pucci’s Sinful series. These books are slated to be interconnected standalones, as far as I can tell. I believe there will be an overarching storyline that will make more sense if the series is read in order, but each couple’s story seems to be contained in a single novel. Truth is written in dual first-person perspective, narrated by Drew and Dominic.
Truth!!! Book One, based on one of the seven deadly sins, Lust, and I've died all the deads! I am enthralled and looking forward to more from Trilina Pucci! She's a new to me author and as far as being my first read from her, it certainly will not be my last!I was so drawn in to how Drew Matthews found her way to her bad add self! I loved her! There were times when she was with Nick that I was wondering what she was thinking putting up with him but then I understood how she got so wrapped up in pleasing him she lost herself. And eventually with Dominic King? Oh my King!!! Such an alpha, devil, sinful- I love him. She found her true self and I'm so glad they found their way back to each other and found more than lust. To me, they're the dynamic duo! You have to read this beautiful beginning to what is to be an epic series! Looking forward to Luca next!ðŸ˜
I am officially in love with this writer and her style. This was my very first read from her and I KNOW it won't be my last. This story was AMAZING!!I absolutely loved the relationship between the characters and how well they complimented each other. I enjoyed watching them spar and seeing the sparks between them. Drew is definitely one of my favorite heroines ever!!!The story flowed so well. I ended up binge reading this beauty in about a day.I absolutely recommend this amazing story!!
This is my very first Trilina Pucci book but after reading it, I know I am a huge fan. This story was so sinfully good and decadently enchanting that I couldn't put it down. The hint of danger and the heavy dose of scorching heat just made it irresistible to my bookworm heart. And it doesn't hurt that King is the perfect combination of forbidden fruit and dangerous alpha bad boy that can melt your panties with his addictive gaze.Drew captured my attention from the very start. The strength she shows in escaping her abusive relationship is simply admirable. But she only finds her real self again, once she captures King's interest. And though their attraction and even feelings are practically instant, the story is written in such a way, that it actually makes you believe in instant connection.Of course, Drew and King's relationship is not a walk in the park. Drew's fear of trusting herself again and King's stubbornness nearly destroy what they have, but in the end, as they say, love conquers all :D Of course, there are few more obstacles on their way, but they only strengthen their relationship and love for each other.I would actually compare this book to the Mount Trilogy or the Savage Trilogy by Meghan March. It has exactly the same forbidden feel to it and the same scorching heat factor :D So if you are a fan of Meghan, I am pretty sure you would love Truth as well. As for me, I can't wait to get my hands on Worship, the second book in the series and to find out what happens with Drew's best friend and King's brother :DI voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. I was confident I was going to enjoy this book but honestly, it went well beyond my expectations. This is my first Trilina Pucci book, but she has cemented herself as a go-to one-clicker! The storyline is tantalizing, with the best kind of characters--a sassy, strong, intelligent, and independent heroine in Drew, and a strong, tattooed, dominant hero in King (Dominic). This book is a page-turner and you won't want to put it down! This book is S.E.X.Y. I love that Trilina is writing an entire series surrounding the seven deadly sins, with Truth being the first. I can't wait for more from this world. Brava for Truth! 5 stars from me.
